I'm still a bit confused.  I looked at the file that I was loading
with a hex editor.  It shows this...
31 0A 21 0A 33 0A 34 0A 35 0A 36 OA 37 0A 38 0A 39 0A
Isn't this exactly what it needs?  If it was stripping
the 0A's the I would have one large string 123456789
not 1|2|3|4|5|6|7|8|9?
