[hylafax-users] multiline comments

I've installed 4.2.2rc1 on FreeBSD 5.3.  I tried the multiline
comments that is supposed to work.  I had a file that was created
like...

I read that into a variable COMMENTS with procmail
COMMENTS = `cat $METAMAIL_TMPDIR/mm*` and ran
$SENDFAX -f "$FROM" -C "/home/faxuser/hfcvp.ps" -c "$COMMENTS" -r
"$SUBJECT" -d "$DS" $METAMAIL_TMPDIR/*

The coverpage was created and faxed but the comment output was
like this..
1|2|3|4|5|6|7|8|9

Any hints?
