[hylafax-users] Problem configuring Caller ID retrieval in incoming faxes

Hello,

I have a standard hylafax fax setup for fax-to-email conversion.

I have a US Robotics internal modem (model Number 5610B) on ttyS14 -

MODEM U.S. ROBOTICS 56K FAX

This is running on Fedora Core 3. Basic fax-to-email works fine but I cant get the caller id data. Till now, I have done the following –

To test if my setup supports caller ID –

- Used minicom, initialized modem with AT#CID=1 and test that caller ID is enabled on the phone line, I get this on the terminal

--------------------

OK

at#cid=1

OK

RING

DATE = 0902

TIME = 1622

NMBR = 2013326900

NAME = ISHI SYS INC

RING

--------------------

I put “AT#CID=1” in etc/config.ttyS14 with the “ModemResetCmds:”.

The moment I put this parameter in config.ttyS14, hylafax stops accepting faxes. The line rings, hylafax picks up after 3 rings (as configured) and the handshake is never successful. I get this in the transaction log -

----

Sep 02 14:32:23.27: [ 5741]: SESSION BEGIN 000000036 12013326900

Sep 02 14:32:23.27: [ 5741]: HylaFAX (tm) Version 4.2.1

Sep 02 14:33:13.97: [ 5741]: ANSWER: Ring detected without successful handshake

Sep 02 14:33:13.97: [ 5741]: SESSION END

-----

I remove the “ModemResetCmds:” and everything is back to normal.

What am I missing?
