[hylafax-users] DCN when sending 60 page fax to Canon fax machine

Hi. We're using hylafax 4.2.1 running on gentoo. Today was our first
attempt at sending out a large (60 pages) fax to one of our vendors
who apparently uses Canon Laser 9000 Series fax machines. At around
page 41, the fax will stop with the following:

Aug 30 19:48:02.18: [ 2071]: <-- data [1032]
Aug 30 19:48:02.98: [ 2071]: <-- data [945]
Aug 30 19:48:03.38: [ 2071]: <-- data [2]
Aug 30 19:48:04.35: [ 2071]: --> [2:OK]
Aug 30 19:48:04.35: [ 2071]: <-- [9:AT+FTS=7\r]
Aug 30 19:48:04.44: [ 2071]: --> [2:OK]
Aug 30 19:48:04.44: [ 2071]: <-- [9:AT+FTH=3\r]

Aug 30 19:48:04.49: [ 2071]: <-- data [7]
Aug 30 19:48:04.49: [ 2071]: <-- data [2]
Aug 30 19:48:05.91: [ 2071]: --> [2:OK]
Aug 30 19:48:05.91: [ 2071]: SEND send PPS (partial page signal)
Aug 30 19:48:05.91: [ 2071]: SEND send MPS (more pages, same document)
Aug 30 19:48:05.91: [ 2071]: <-- [9:AT+FRH=3\r]
Aug 30 19:48:06.36: [ 2071]: --> [7:CONNECT]
Aug 30 19:48:07.25: [ 2071]: --> [2:OK]
Aug 30 19:48:07.25: [ 2071]: SEND recv DCN (disconnect)
Aug 30 19:48:07.25: [ 2071]: <-- [9:AT+FRS=7\r]
Aug 30 19:48:07.37: [ 2071]: --> [2:OK]
Aug 30 19:48:07.37: [ 2071]: COMREC invalid response received to PPS.
Aug 30 19:48:07.37: [ 2071]: SEND end page
Aug 30 19:48:07.37: [ 2071]: <-- [9:AT+FTH=3\r]
Aug 30 19:48:07.42: [ 2071]: --> [7:CONNECT]
Aug 30 19:48:07.42: [ 2071]: <-- data [3]
Aug 30 19:48:07.42: [ 2071]: <-- data [2]
Aug 30 19:48:08.74: [ 2071]: --> [2:OK]
Aug 30 19:48:08.74: [ 2071]: <-- [5:ATH0\r]
Aug 30 19:48:10.27: [ 2071]: --> [2:OK]
Aug 30 19:48:10.27: [ 2071]: SESSION END

The fax appears to be sending fine and then just DCN's for no apparent
reason. Upon trying a few more times the fax will either stop on page
1 or 41. I searched the archives and found a topic a few years back
with someone who had a similar problem with Canon fax machines.

Does anyone know if there's a workaround for this problem? I'm using
an AOpen external modem with a Rockwell RC288DPi chipset. The modem
is set to run as Class 1.

Faxing the same 60 pages to our Brother fax machine went through flawlessly.

Is there any way I can configure hylafax to workaround this problem or
could it be my modem? I'm thinking about purchasing a Multitech modem
for the office if a solution can't be found. Hopefully that will
solve the problem but getting it to work with the current modem would
be ideal.

Btw, we also tried with an external Viking modem (the white and blue
vertical one) and it too stopped at page 41.

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
