Re: [hylafax-users] can send but cant receive

Wow, another Davicom modem. I had a 33.6 Davicom modem once (maybe I still do in my drawer full of ISA modems), but it only did Class 2. I'm sure that the chipset was different.

Is the chipset on the modem also Davicom?

When you run faxaddmodem it's not going to pick up a prototype so you're going to need to make your own.

Anyway, as far as the blacklisting, you'll need to read the modem manual about how to manipulate that.

Lee.

Have you tried googling for "modem blacklisted"?

"blacklist" is when you call too much a number which is not answering
and then the modem refuses to call it again until a certain amount of
time is elapsed.
The modem is required to do it by some state regulations/laws.
Just switch it off and then on.
You can disable this modem "feature", but since every chipset has
different ways to do it, you should post output of
probemodem ttyS0
so we undertand what kind of modem you have.
"bestbuy modem" is not enough.
