Re: [hylafax-users] MT5634ZBX on Hylafax
X-Arial Concept-MailScanner: Found to be clean
X-MailScanner-From: samp@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi,
First I downgraded to my last working Hylafax setup 4.1.2 with a basic
USR, change my modem to a MT5634ZBA-V92/1.32b, then I configured my
config.ttyS0 as:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
ModemType: Class2 # use class 2 interface
ModemRate: 19200 # lock rate for DCE-DTE
communication
ModemFlowControl: rtscts # default
Class2Cmd: AT+FCLASS=2 # command to enter class 2
#
ModemSetupAACmd: AT+FAA=1 # enable adaptive-answer in class 2
#
# NB: some models get confused by @ in ModemDialCmd
#
ModemDialCmd: ATDT%s # T for tone dialing
#
---------------------------------------------------------------------
With this very minimalist config when a data call coming I got this with
mgetty, after the "GETTY: exit status 05000" the modem hangup, there is
the log:
---------------------------------------------------------------------

The faxaddmodem don't work with this modem on any Hylafax version, it
seems that Hylafax doesn't support the MultiTech MT5634ZBA-V92/1.32b
It is the first time I spend one week to configure Hylafax, I think it
should be better to remove these modem (MT5634ZBA, MT5656ZDX) from the
Hylafax compatibility list as long as we don't find the right way to
make it working, the MT5634ZBA-V92 cost me 190.00 Euros !

Sam,
The only commands that you need to set the modem are:
AT+FCLASS=2
AT+FAA=1
You can even test this using a basic terminal emulation such as
HyperTerminal in Windows or minicom in linux.
This is what the modem suppose to do.
OK / You set the modem with the right commands
at+fclass=2
OK
at+faa=1
OK
at+fclass?
2
OK
/ A fax call is coming in , and the modem should answer
in fax mode
RING
+FCON
+FTSI:" 763 717 5721"
+FDCS:0,5,0,2,0,0,0,3
OK
+FHNG:72
OK
/Another fax call is coming in and the modem should
answer in fax mode.
RING
+FCON
+FTSI:" 763 717 5721"
+FDCS:0,5,0,2,0,0,0,3
OK
+FHNG:72
OK
/When a data call is coming the modem should answer in data
mode.
RING
DATA
CONNECT 33600 V42bis
OK
After the modem answers in data modem .The modem can not switch back to fax
mode so the software needs to configure the modem one more time with the
following commands.
OK
at+fclass=2
OK
at+faa=1
OK
Be sure that your software configure the modem after each call, this way the
modem should answer in fax or data modem, depending of the incoming call.
If you test the modem with a terminal. Let me know if the modem fails to
answer a fax or data call.
Yes it is, at this time I can't succedeed to receive a data call
If the modem answers correctly in the terminal, then the problem could be a
configuration in or modem support from you software.
www.hylafax.org will be able to provide a list of supported modems with
their software.
Does the MT5634ZBA-V92/1.32b is really supported by Hylafax ???
Sam.
