This is the error. It's quite clear that the high-speed data carrier was not detected by the modem.


That said, I strongly suspect that this is an error on the part of the modem itself. Either it doesn't implement +FCERROR as it is supposed to, or some other problem. I have a few 536EP modems myself, and I've not yet been able to successfully use them. I haven't put much effort into it, though.
