1. What clients are available for windows 2000 platform?
Lots. See: http://www.hylafax.org/howto/faxing.html, pay particular
attention to the "Windows" section and the "Cross-Platform" section.
You'll probably want to check back on-list if you want experiences
about recent versions of any of them.
2. I will send/receive 50-100 fax per month. Is HylaFax right for me?
Your sending/receiving volume certainly would be acceptable for HylaFAX
use.
3. I can only make local call from my phone. Is that mean, I would be
able to fax out to my local calling area only?
Yes.
4. If #3 is yes, is there any free fax-router available (for HylaFax
server) to fax out beyond my local calling area?
You can try TPC. See: http://www.hylafax.org/howto/tpc.html
5. Can HylaFax distinguish fax, voice and data tone? It might depends
on
modem too, I am not so sure.
The modem does this. It's called "Adaptive Answer".
6. Is there any answering machine module available for voice call?
It's called vgetty (from mgetty package). Integrating it with HylaFAX
can be tricky. You'll probably want to ask on-list about how to do
that.
7. Is it an issue, if my fax server stay behind a firewall?
Probably not.
8. How friendly HylaFax is with Fedora Core 3?
You'll want to use CVS-HEAD or wait for 4.2.1.
Lee.
