A change in the 4.2.0 release broke functionality for Topic modems.

See: http://bugs.hylafax.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=543

You can apply the patch there to your 4.2.0 source and rebuild, get CVS-HEAD, get someone to do one of the above for you, or you can wait for 4.2.1.

Lee.

Great thanks Lee. I installed the 4.2.0 source from the .tar.gz file and added the patch from that bug. Since I had used the RPM originally, I had to get a few more of the -devel RPMs and stuff, but eventually, configure worked. I assumed you meant the last patch on that bug only, can you confirm? It applied cleanly except for one spot where the 2550 to 7550 change could not be done automatically because the second two lines of context did not match, so maybe the patch was made from a slightly older version of the source?

Anyway, after I manually made that last patch, it seemed to install and run fine. I had to re-make that Transfer Encoding: base64 change and stuff but it looks to be running fine now.

So far, one test fax (from another Hylafax machine) has succeeded, so it is 1-for-1 with the patch. I'll see how it goes over the next few days with other senders.

Thanks for your quick and knowledgeable reply.

Martin
