Add these lines to your modem config file.  It would appear that 
faxaddmodem was trying to do the right thing, but couldn't due to an 
awk problem that likely was fixed in 4.2.0.

Class1EOPWaitCmd:   "<delay:9>"
Class1TCFWaitCmd:   "<delay:7>"
Class1PPMWaitCmd:   "<delay:7>"
Class1SwitchingCmd: "<delay:7>"
