When there are multiple jobs in the outbound queue for the same destination batching occurs when all jobs are sent in the same call rather than placing a separate call for each job.

So if you send a lot of faxes to the same destinations then batching will probably deliver the faxes more quickly, keep the server less-busy, and save on toll charges if applicable.
