that's might be, but my modem (Cirrus-Logic CL-MD34xx) has 'rtscts' as 
it's Default config.

 That's because it's a generic config for this chip type. All things are
not equal, just because it uses that chip!
 The phrase "with SOME of these modems" did point that bit out.

 Also, if you have tried an option that didn't help, it may be worth while
mentioning such,

and if i tell you that there are at least 1 messages in the Mailing-List Archive that tell that the "delay 7" option does not work ? would i renew somthing to you ?

still : help, somebody ? (i don't want to replace my Hardware-modem with a flimsy Linmodem... :(  )
