I'm not speaking about the tagline date, but the date in the coverpage.
The faxcover program that eat a template postscript file and emit a
postscript cover page i think have to be locale-aware...

this is relative to faxmail/textfmt, not faxcover...

again, this add latin2 support to faxmail/textfmt.


My problem is different: my faxcover template have accented character,
that are escaped (i don't know postscript, so i don't know how escaping
works, but, for example:

	 (Centro polivalente di Riabilitazione - Via della Bont\340, 7 - 33078 San Vito al Tagliamento \(PN\)) SH

Bont\340 instead of Bontà), but when faxcover substitute text into the
template making the real cover, they substitute it literally.

I think that solutions will be:

+ adding some information to the postscript file that make the
  postscrit interpreter think that this is a latin1 (or something else)
  document, so the accented character are printed correctly (as in
  html, where you can use entities like è but also mark the
  entire document as latin1 and write accented chars.
+ or adding to faxcover the ability to escape the accented characters.
