Hi Lee - Pedros this answer is to you both as you are both on the same track,
I am indicating that the modem is wrong because this issue was non existant with a Class2 setup. It was only once I converted to Class1 that this issue arose.
We are behind a pabx, but the number I have been dialing is an internal number so there should not really be any interference from the PABX (again - it works fine with Class 2). As an example of what I mean about every second fax attempt failing, I'll include an extract from the ../etc/xferfaxlog file
