The only good way is to open the files in Word and print to a
pseudo-printer which creates a PS or PDF file.
As Enver mentioned, the Apple LaserWriter driver is suitable to
generate PS; for PDF have a look at
http://sector7g.wurzel6.de/pdfcreator/index_en.htm (unlike many others,
this is open source, no spyware/adware etc).
And convert personalized serial-letters of word-docs to send as fax?
I don't know anything about serial letters in word, but I assume the
only way would be a pseudo-printer again.
