Bummer, Lee. I was eagerly awaiting your "see the archive" link for this
one :) I have exactly the same requirement (I think) and was hoping that
you'd seen a solution in your travels.

Let me see if I can describe our version of this a little better. In our
discussions with our clients, we've used the phrase "Assembling a Fax".
Basically, they want to be able to go to multiple Windows applications and
piece together a fax. Here's a typical scenario:

1) Write a cover letter in OpenOffice
2) "Attach" (a horrible term -- really add to assembly) a PDF Application
3) "Attach" a previously recieved fax (PDF or TIFF)

Finally, send all of them to a fax number in a single fax.

The biggest reason given for this is that, "This is how we do it now!"
Basically, they print out each of the 3 items from the different
applications, and they put it in a fax machine (often with a handwritten
note).

I know it sounds horrible, but this is a real need on our clients offices.
If anyone knows of a good tool for this, please let me know. If anyone
wants to pursue writing one, let me know: I'll need one by the end of May.

Binko
