True, the faxqclean program does the removal. It first invokes the archive script and then removes unreferenced files from the docq ( as the output in my first post obviously shows), see man faxqclean.

Well I'm gonna continue monitoring the setup and if I find a different reason I'll definetly post my findings on this list.
