This is a samba-fax problem, not HylaFAX proper. Maybe try other Win
clients.

Yes (you need just one time after HylaFAX server is started), if you don't
setup faxgetty to be run from /etc/inittab
(ie:
S2:2345:respawn:/usr/sbin/faxgetty ttyS2
)

This is normal if you use faxmodem instead of faxgetty.
