Re: [hylafax-users] No response to MPS or EOP repeated 3 tries

It may be necessary to fake an MCF frame.
Huh?! "Faking" any remote response signal is totally inappropriate.
"Faking" an MCF frame would not provide us confirmation that the remote
received the image data properly.
I suspect, though, that most serious developers are using Class 2 or
2.0
modems.
I consider myself a serious developer :-) and I use Class 1 most of the
time. There's not much for us to develop in Class 2, anyway.
No response to MPS/EOP in Class 1 these days generally means that the
remote fax machine is having trouble printing or decoding the image
data. Sometime it just means we need to wait longer for the response,
but generally it means the remote didn't actually complete the receive.

The remote supports ECM. If you are seriously interested in getting
the fax sent properly, and if you are seriously interested in
benefiting HylaFAX, I suggest you check out HylaFAX CVS which now
supports ECM and MMR. Use of ECM gives a VERY clear idea of what's
going on in the data-portion of the transmission.
