[hylafax-users] Hylafax - RedHat 8 - Dynalink PCI Card56 (Lucent) Data/Fax/TAM PCI Modem

I'm using (since 5 years ago) the same Fax server program (Winfax, actually 10) with all his troubles and freezes and unexpected blue screens, now I have a linux server runing RedHat 8.0 as storage device and webserver.

After looking for a solution to get a good automated fax server, i found that Hylafax is the perfect pack for the job.

After fighting with the rpms distros availables and the required packages to install hylafax, I got all and installed now.
(The folder fonts of the ghostscript isn't in the expected dir, but is just a warning)

The modem driver was in RPM format, so, i didn't know the serial port wich the modem was attached...
the link to the modem, as told in the Setup page of hylafax in Redhat is, indeed, 'modem' but hylafax
suggest not to use that link. I don't remember where, but i get the value ttyLT0 i add it with faxaddmodem
and speak at 38400 bps.

Product Code  (ATI0) "LT V.92 Data+Fax Modem Version 8.26a"

All goes smooth after installation, and i try to send a fax and it say it was trying, but nothing...
Answer: No dial tone.

After that, i quit the ttyLT0 files of hylafax and try to use the RedHat default 'modem' and it works sweeet.

Then i add the faxgetty to inittab.

and I reboot the sistem (windows habbit)

Then, i got this message 'Waiting for modem to come ready'

and, then I quit the faxgetty line from inittab and shutdown and restart the machine.

and the message from yesterday still there...

when i assign the ttyLT0 it say it works but notting happen.
when i assign modem it say the message 'to come ready'
i was able to send ONE fax (i think 4 days ago)
but now, i'm lost.

I read almost all the docs about installing modem, I used the
defaults values for a Class 1 modem but still doesn't work.

I hope some suggestions or the config of the modem
(coz i don't have the manual of the modem neither :'( )

Saludos
Roberto
