Note in evaluating my reply that I used to Mr. Class 2.

Switch everything to class 1.  :-)

The code in HylaFAX now *far* outshines almost anything you're going to
find in modem firmware, unless there's some Class 2.0 or 2.1 feature
you really need a lot.
