did u try similar configurations like this?
(if u're using class 2)
Class2DCCQueryCmd:    !(0,1),(0-3),(0-4),(0-2),(0),(0),(0),(0-7)
in config.ttySX ?
did u check, if configurations u've setted in config are'nt overridden 
in config.ttySX? (ttySX is your modem device, maybe .modem or something 
else)

mostly it's not a problem of communication between compuiter and modem...
it's more a problem between modem and other fax....
