[hylafax-users] client for hylafax

hello

I have the plan to  program a new client for hyalfax for kde.

But I have some problems with the networkconnection,
I test the network with 
ftp localhost 4559
than username: hggh
passwd:XXXX
now i do a:
cd recvq
and than to set the format string:
ftp> RCVFMT
?Invalid command.

Why is the command not found ?

Where I can find docu for programming a client ?
I have allready read the man hfaxd but I need more infomation.

I think the best server is shit if no good client exists.
