What you prefer.
Always backup config files, just in case..

If you upgrade, probably you'll see some errors in the rpm output due to an
hack the rpm upgrade does to move the spool dir from /var/spool/fax to
/var/spool/hylafax (change occurred in 4.1rc1).

If you uninstall and reinstall, you'll have to move by hand customizations
from /var/spool/fax to /var/spool/hylafax, or you can
rpm -e 
mv /var/spool/fax /var/spool/hylafax
rpm -Uvh

In any case save output for rpm command for reference.
