[hylafax-users] faxgetty and mgetty

Hi

I installed Hylafax 4.1.5 on SuSE Linux 7.2.
It was a new install not an upgrade.

I follow the instructions in FAQ about
"How do I get mgetty and ppp working with HylaFAX?" Q343
but I've never got this working.

I can send and receive faxes, the outgoing calls are
working but not the incoming calls.

Here is what happened when I tried to connect over the modem:

===========================================================
-- On the client machine

bash-2.03# cu modem1
Connected.
 at
OK
 at+fclass=0
OK
 atdt<phone_number>
CONNECT
?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?ßèebès@ú~è}@
                                      ?
NO CARRIER

-- On the server machine

[188,pslpeter-p2:peter] # faxstat -s
HylaFAX scheduler on pslpeter: Running
Modem ttyS4 (+1.<phone_number>): Receiving facsimile

===========================================================

It looks like faxgetty can not recognize the call correctly
and thinks it is a fax call instead of data call.

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thank you
Peter
