Re: [hylafax-users] Waiting for modem to come ready

Like others who have posted on this topic around late August 2002, I am
experiencing a fairly annoying behavior with my US Robotics Courier
v.Everything modem with Hylafax 4.1.3.

I can receive faxes just fine until I send a fax, after which faxstat
reports "waiting for modem to come ready" -- and the modem doesn't answer --
indefinitely, or until I send faxgetty a HUP signal, when everything becomes
OK again.

I have even applied Lee Howard's "pause" patch (as posted to hylafax-users)
with no improvement.

If anyone has a fix for this problem, I'd appreciate a pointer.  Or if I can
provide more information or other assistance, I look forward to contributing
to a fix that can be integrated into future Hylafax versions so the world
will be safer for users of this rather expensive modem (although I am proud
to say I got mine brand new and cheap on Ebay).
