  Subject: [hylafax-users] Hylafax v4.0pl1:
  faxaddmodem fails.

Hi All,
I'm using hylafax
  on AIX 4.3.3 and I am trying to add in a new modem but faxaddmodem and I have
  two issues.
1. It is detecting the
  modem as a class 1 modem and I'm pretty sure it's a  class 2 (can't find
  docco anymore) .
2. It keeps failing
  as follows,
any ideas?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Probing for best speed to talk to modem:
  38400 OK.
[1]+  Terminated
             ( trap 0 1 2 15; while true;
  do
    sleep 10; echo "";
  echo "Hmm, something seems to be hung, check your modem eh?";
done )
Hmm,
  this looks like a Class 1 modem.
Product code (ATI0) is "56000".
Other information (ATI3) is "Series 8 SmartModem56 V.90 SuperSecure
  Modem D(L)-Q7".
DTE-DCE flow control
  scheme [default]?
Modem manufacturer
  is "Unknown".
Modem model is
  "Unknown".
Using prototype
  configuration file class1...
./faxaddmodem: /bin/cat: The parameter or environment lists are too
  long.
./faxaddmodem: /bin/sed: The
  parameter or environment lists are too long.
./faxaddmodem: /bin/rm: The parameter or environment lists are too
  long.
