No, this is normal behavior. it should be some kind of subaddress if
present.

# cd /var/spool/hylafax

look for errors and find why it hangs, maybe with
# sh -x bin/faxrcvd "recvq/fax00001.tif" "ttyS1" "00000014" "" "" ""
