[hylafax-users] Need for additional HylaFAQ entry

Hi everyone,

I've found through my tribulations as a newbie to HylaFAX and setting it
up, that there needs to be another HylaFAQ entry for the error "Waiting
for modem to come ready" as returned by faxstat.

The situation I've run into with HylaFAX with two different systems is
that faxstat returns an erroneous "Waiting for modem to come ready"
error even when the modems are just fine. The systems are both linux,
redhat 7.2. One installation is version 4.1.1, the other is version
4.1.2 (both rpm-based installs). One system has two different modems
installed internally, the other has a 6 port PCI RocketModem II card
(great hardware, btw) installed.

I, after much, much, much research and trying things, eventually figured
out that I needed to be running faxgetty (via init, of course) on the
serial ports the modems were set up on. That way, faxgetty was updating
the modem status information for faxstat to read accurately. Yes, I'm a
newb at HylaFAX, yes this is probably a Dumb Newb Error. Buuut, I
couldn't find a simple statement of the *requirement* for faxgetty to be
running to get accurate modem status information from faxstat anywhere
in the documentation, including from either of the two existing HylaFAQ
entries for the "Waiting for modem to come ready" error.

Please update the HylaFAQ to include this additional scenario for that
error message in the HylaFAQ. Trust me, future newcomers to HylaFAX
will save muuuuuuuch time and frustration setting up what is a truely
excellent piece of software when faced with this error.

Thanks to all the developers and documentors for your work on making
HylaFAX so great, and for taking the time to read this and hopefully
implement this suggestion.

Scott
