How did you create your etc/config.ttyS0 file?  Did faxaddmodem use a
prototype, or did you have to enter in a buch of AT commands?

If the latter, then I'd say that your config file is wrong.  If that's it,
then please stop any faxgetty processes and send the output of 'probemodem
ttyS0'.

If it did detect a prototype, then... are you running faxgetty at all?
