We have been quite successful getting HylaFAX running on OS/X, the receive fax works great. We made the following changes in the config.site:
GETTY="BSD" # type of getty support (auto|BSD|SysV)
CXXFILE="-x c++" # options for proper C++ processing
CONFIG_SOCKARGLENTYPE="int" # call-by-ref arg type for socket funcs
We can get everything running except, hfaxd.
I am not certain we need HFAXD, as we only ever need to forward faxes which are received. I am uncertain of how to send them directly to faxq.
We found a couple of FAQ's similar for Solaris and AIX, however none of these seem to resolve the problems.
It appears that hfaxd, is creating a file in the dev/null, not a device special file. mknod seems to be giving us some grief, but this could just be some next/openstep anachranisms I am forgetting. When we link /dev/null to dev/null, we get our error we had before we changes the CONFIG_SOCKARGLENTYPE above. We are contemplating reverting this config change.
Thoughts and suggestions are most welcome.
