As far as i remember this doesn't mean anything when faxgetty send this
message...
This is because that a fax is beeing send at that very moment and faxgetty can't
lock the modem (which is true, but ok)

i re-installed HylaFAX from scratch following the HOWTO-instructions in
more pedantic fashion. what has changed from my previous installation is
that, i wasn't running faxgetty and my ghostscript package was v6.01
before i downgraded to v5.50. now, sending faxes seems to be working fine
except that i get occasional 'ANSWER: Can not lock modem device' messages.
any ideas on what could be causing these messages?
