faxstat says:

I'm running faxgetty in inittab with:

S1:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/faxgetty ttyS1

Apparently faxaddmodem isn't completely setting up my modem.

Probing for best speed to talk to modem: 38400 OK.
/bin/stty: standard input: unable to perform all requested operations
[1]+  Terminated              ( trap 0 1 2 15; while true; do
     sleep 10; echo ""; echo "Hmm, something seems to be hung, check your 
modem e
h?";
done )

The /bin/stty: standard input: unable to perform all requested operations 
repeats 2 or 3 times more as the script continues.  I've found this message 
mentioned in Internet searches but I haven't seen a workaround yet.
