[hylafax-users] outbound fax troubles

Still no luck with our outbound fax problem (reference yesterday's message,
same subject). Perhaps a few more details will help:

The machine is running RedHat 6.0, and has the most recent Hylafax
(4.1beta2) and libtiff (3.5.5) RPM's installed. The modems are MultiTech
MT1937ZDX faxmodems connected to a Cyclades multi-port serial adapter. The
modems can be accessed directly by cu, as well as through other terminal
software such as minicom.

I have checked the possibility of libtiff incompatibilities as mentioned,
but the processor is typically running at < 5% with jobs scheduled. With
just a single modem configured earlier yesterday (before adding faxgetty to
inittab), I was able to send two faxes.

I have added faxgetty to inittab, and HUP'd init. Faxstat shows that the
modems are online with:

HylaFAX scheduler on guiness: Running
Modem ttyC0 (+1.999.555.1212): Running and idle
Modem ttyC1 (+1.999.555.1212): Running and idle
Modem ttyC2 (+1.999.555.1212): Running and idle

My config.device files were all created by faxaddmodem, without any
difficulties. config.ttyC0 (with comments removed) is:

CountryCode: 1
AreaCode: 561
FAXNumber: +1.999.555.1212

config (again, with comments removed) is:

LogFacility: daemon
CountryCode: 1
AreaCode: 561
LongDistancePrefix: 1
InternationalPrefix: 011
DialStringRules: etc/dialrules
ServerTracing: 1
ModemGroup: "any:.ttyC[0-2]" # have also tried ModemClass
here...

hfaxd.conf:

LogFacility: daemon # syslog facility (want this 1st))
ServerTracing: 0x001 # just server operation

I don't know what other information could prove useful. As stated earlier,
we did have these modems working on this hardware before, but the
configuration was lost when the array controller went bad (and we never
backed up the controller config!).

Any additional insight would be _GREATLY_ appreciated!
Jeff Woods
