So I've found. I am still struggling with my 3334 and still cannot reliably
receive faxes. There has to be someone around here who is using one -- it's
on the supported modem list.

The config files for the MT3334 and MT5600 will be quite different, since
the latter is now a Rockwell chipset derivative.
