Hi George,

too bad that you have such problems Installing Hylafax. I havent had
these
problems at all, and I am no Unix or Fax Guru.
Nearly to years ago I read the first time about hylafax. I got a 4.0
binary 
for sun solaris from the Hylafax-ftp-server and installed it. Installing
and testing took about 3 or 4 hours, that is not too long for such a 
complex software.
Even building a new version from soure for a redhat system went ok
without
any major problems.

A GUI would be nice to have, but you would still have to know what to
do.
