So that's a real no answer, not a "I answered the phone but didn't get what
I liked back".

Ok.

(The real question is, did I pay for that call.  If the line wasn't answered,
the answer to the question is no ;-)

The reason this becomes important is that I am attempting to flag error
conditions and prevent calling a "bad" machine again and again in a
fruitless attempt to deliver subsequent messages.  This is an automated
system and sends a LOT of faxes so being diagnostic about *why* something 
didn't work is important.
