Problems with stopping HylaFax from using modems for outbound

Hi folks,

I have an interesting problem.

I have a "hybrid" system where some lines are usable for inbound and others
for outbound ONLY.

That is, I CANNOT send on an inbound line - if I do, I get a really nasty
surprise when the phone bill shows up.

Those are, obviously, the lines I want to use for incoming faxes.

Well, there are two suggestions in the FAQ on this - using the config
parameters "ModemClass" and "TimeOfDay" to control if a modem can be used.

I've set the "undesirable" modems "Timeofday" to "Never", which should
prevent it from being used. It doesn't.

I've also set the undesirable modem's "ModemClass" to "inbound", which
should prevent a job queued with no specific class (defaulting to "any")
from using it either.

That doesn't work EITHER.

"faxstate" can set the modem to DOWN, which is ok, but as soon as it
receives a fax the system sees that its not really down and turns it
back on!

HELP!
