Goodness, George! Please read the manual page for the command "stty"!
The command is a reset command, designed to hang up modem lines, at least
under SunOS and RedHat Linux.

Try "ps auxww | less". That should nail everything, and you can look
for 6244.

It would clean up the logs and make them much more legible. You might also
look into the "stty" command for SuSE Linux and see if there is an equivalent
that you should use for that OS...
