This has been renamed, for many reasons, to ..fax/etc/hosts.hfaxd.
Read the manual page from the latest beta release, or look at the
"hosts" manual page for older distributions. You want the *HYLAFAX*
file and man page, not the standard /etc/hosts file and its manpage.

The easiest thing to do is to add IP addresses for the machines
you wish to permit to access the fax server to the
list of IP addresses in this file.
