I had the same message (Timeout) as i tried a slower baudrate (19200)
instead of 38400 in the config.modem file. but I=B4m using an ELSA 56K
modem. The timeouts disappeared as i switched back to 38400. maybe a
faster baudrate could help you too, if your modem allows it. Could be
a try!
