flexfax: problem w/ HylaFAX on RH Linux 5.2

Hello,

I'm trying to set up HylaFAX on a RH 5.2 Linux box.  After installing
hylafax-4_0pl2-3rh5_i386.rpm I needed to create a link from
/usr/lib/libc.so.5 -> /usr/i486-linux-libc5/lib/libc.so.5 in order to get
things working.  Everything seems correct now but still no luck in getting
off a test fax:

HylaFAX is running:

# ps aux
...[snip]...
uucp       507  0.0 10.6  3344  1560  ?  S    10:39   0:00 /usr/sbin/faxq
uucp       509  0.0  8.7  3196  1276  ?  S    10:39   0:00
/usr/sbin/hfaxd -i hylafax

Yet something is still amiss:

# faxstat
Service not available, remote server closed connection

#sendfax -n -d 5551212 /etc/passwd
Service not available, remote server closed connection

# telnet localhost hylafax
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.

Any ideas?
