flexfax: passwords???

I'm not sure my other message made it to the list as my first subscription
attempt bombed.

I've set up Hylafax and seem to have everything running with the exception of
needing a password.  When I telnet into hfaxd I can log in but can't get admin
status.  I'm asked for a password.

I've tried everything I can think of to get around this without success. 
I've been trying to add a null password in hosts but that didn't work.  Does
anyone know how to get past this point?

I used the rpm's in SuSE 5.3 to install Hylafax.
