which are causing the grief.

To fix:
Some fax machines are very sensitive and and ask for a retrain on any
encoding error, unfortunately when hylafax adds the tagline to each fax
page some extra bytes are added between the tagline and the page.  There is
a patch to fix this, the tagline patch here:

If this still occurs the other possible solution is to run your modem in
Class1, the Class 1 driver when receiving a RTN decreases speed on the next
retry, this helps if the phone line is a little noisy, the fax is more
likely to get through at a lower speed.  In the same situation the class
2/2.0 driver retries to send at the same speed which tends to cause a loop
like above.
