Guys,

In case you are in the same situation: by simply adding:

Class2NRCmd:            AT+FNR=1,1,1,0  # setup status reporting
command

to my /var/spool/fax/etc/config.ttyf2 file the darn thing now works.

Such a simple fix and what a pain in the behind! I think I will copy
this message to whoever maintains tha HylaFAX page so some unfortunate
soul does not spend a couple of days trying to get things to work.

Thanks again for your help: I was about to throw the darn software away.
