Hmm. Multiple documents? Are all parts of your fax in the same
resolution (which might help, if there is some screwballness going
on there)?

I also seem to remember a problem with RTS/CTS under some IRIX operating
systems. Have you tried software flow control?

Whoops! You might also try using Class 1: a lot of modems seem to have
problems in Class 2 or 2.0, and I haven't seen any simple fix posted.
Also, why is it barfing on this command?
You might run probemodem to check on this, and look in the manuals.
