Yes there are reasons not to rename the names of xferstats(1M)
and xferlog(4): the existing installations all over the world,
the crontab scripts or other scripts on servers written by
sysadmins, the need of changing man pages, HTML, FAQs etc.
And I can see no problem with that names. If they are clashing
with other (sysadmin!) tools just install them in places 
where they do not owerwrite existing files.

There will be no change for this names in v4.0pl2 source tree.
