Just to give you a few more details,

Some have suggested that gs isn't working properly.
Well, I haven't compiled it with a tiffg3 driver, if that makes any
difference.
I've seen it mentioned a in couple of places, however I can't find info
on how to do it.

Others seem to think my fonts aren't found.
My fonts are in /usr/lib/ghostcsript/fonts and Helvetica-Bold.afm is
there.
This dir didn't exist to begin with, I created it manually and copied
the fonts across.
I have run faxsetup successfully after creating a couple of links.
And the hylafax I'm using was a binary dist of v4.0p11.1 and not source.

I hope all this makes it easier for you all to help me put the finger on
the problem.
