Problems with textfmt

Hi Folks,

I have problems with the program textfmt.
I use HylaFAX 4.0-pl0 , gcc 2.7.2 under linux 2.0.25. 
Textfmt converts my input in a wrong way.
After a "a-umlaut" it puts a blank-line on output.
After a "A-umlaut" it puts a blank-line on output.
Can anybody help me?

PS: Sorry, me english is not so good!
