The current code repositories, both at hylafax.org and sourceforge have extended this timeout that is happening here...

* extend timeout in V.21 HDLC frame reception to T2

It's possible that this will fix things for you.

You're using 4.2.0, and that's particularly old. I'd say that an upgrade is warranted anyway - perhaps there was a fix that took care of this already a year ago or more.

4.2.5.5/4.2.5.6 at http://hylafax.sourceforge.net and 4.3.0rcX at ftp://ftp.hylafax.org should both contain the timeout extension.
